Season 2024 is approaching fast and ADLBA Committee Members are working on finalising the calendar for the year ahead.

Inter Association

An E-mail has been sent directly to all players who participated in 2023 IAT matches to confirm their availability for this year’s games. This was copied to Club Reps with the request that they notify Team Manager Anne Rogers by Sunday 31 March if they wish to participate. This E-mail was copied to Club Reps with the request that they contact Anne if anyone else is interested in participating in this year’s trials.

Due to the limited time available only one trial for this year’s IAT matches on Saturday 27 April 10.00 a.m.- 12 noon at Whitehall and a team practice game will be held at Newhills on Saturday 4 May at 10.00 a.m.

Some match dates are still to be confirmed but current information is as follows:

ADLBA v Clackmannan – Sunday 12 May at Whitehall
ADLBA v East Stirling – Sunday 23 June – Venue TBA
West Fife v ADLBA – Saturday 20 July TBC Venue TBA
Fife v ADLBA – Saturday 10 or Sunday 11 August Time/Venue TBA

The draws for the above were made at the Committee meeting on Wednesday 16 February and have been issued to Club Reps

ADLBA Tournament

Our Tournament Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours competitions (the winners of which go on to represent the Association in the following season’s Top Ten) will again be played evenings/weekends to allow everyone to participate and entry forms for these competitions will be issued to Club Reps shortly.

Dates are still to be finalised as these depend on entries but will provisionally be:

Singles – Thursday evenings c. end May/beginning of June.
Pairs – Thursday evenings/weekends c. end June/beginning of July.
Triples – Thursday evenings/weekends c. beginning of August.
Fours – Thursday evenings/weekends c. end June/beginning of July.

Above timings are provisional only and are subject to change depending upon entries received.

Charity Pairs and Triples

The Committee are considering changing these competitions from knockout format into 2 x one day round robin format events with each game played over 6 or 7 ends. This would reduce the number of days and greens required in an already packed ADLBA calendar. Please discuss with your members so that we can make a decision at the Club Reps meeting on Wednesday 27 March 2024 at 7.00 p.m. at Woodend – agenda being finalised and will be issued shortly.
