The ADLBA Tuesday League Semi Finals were played at Balgownie yesterday. We certainly could not complain about the weather as it was one of the hottest days of the summer.

Woodend (3) v Aberdeen – at the eleventh end the score line was Woodend 2 – Aberdeen 14 but for the next 6 ends Aberdeen did not score. Woodend picked up a run of 10 shots over the next 5 ends to make it Woodend 12 – Aberdeen 14. It was a nail-biting finish on the last end as the umpire was brought onto the green to measure for the shot with Woodend scoring just 1 shot but it was not enough to force an extra end.

Final score – Section 1 Woodend (3) 14 – Aberdeen 14

Newhills (2) v Newhills (1) – this game started off very tight and at the eighth end both teams were tied on 5 shots but Newhills (2) picked up 5 shots on the next end to give them a small lead. This was the turning point in the game for Newhills (2) as they picked up another 6 shots with Newhills (1) picking up 4 shots.

Final score – Section 2 Newhills (2) 16 – Newhills (1) 9

Well done to Aberdeen and Newhills (2) who will play the final at Newhills on Tuesday 19th August at 13:30pm. Spectators are welcome to come along and support the girls.
